FTTN install

Recommended Posts

So I got NBN installed today with a Fibre to the node connection and my house is roughly 300-350m  from the node .

I'd heard all the doom and gloom that the speeds would be crap and everyone would be no better off than adsl2 but here is my speed test.

Not bad, shame it will never do gigabit though. Thanks Liberal Government

what would speed be if you are 5 km away from the nod though, like I was when was living in Canberra, I wonder.

Hopefully you won't be that far away, with adsl I was about 2km from the exchange. With fttn I have a node about 350m away and there are other nodes less than 1km away so hopefully you won't have a problem. They say less than 500m from a node you will get good speeds.
